Wash Up!

Beer tends to be the drink of choice when people go out, want to relax, or while watching the game. Out of all adults who drink, 42% of them prefer to regularly drink beer, 34% prefer wine and 19% prefer other types of liquor as their drinks of choice. While you may not get the same buzz, and probably won't wash your hands every time your team scores, there are a lot of benefits for adding beer to your skincare routine.

Exfoliating:

Beer has been shown to help remove/dissolve dead skin cells. This can leave you with glowing fresh skin. Gentle chemical peels are recommended for more mature skin types. As we age our skin renewal begins to slow which can leave skin looking and feeling dull. Beer is a gentle chemical exfoliant. If you have sensitive skin and are prone to acne this gentle exfoliation may help you as well. Pores often get clogged with dead skin cells causing acne, meaning beer used topically may reduce the appearance of acne!

Nourishing:

Beer contains many amino acids, B-Vitamins, and antioxidants. These nutrients are a key part in keeping skin looking plump and hydrated. Antioxidants help to protect your skins overall health, reducing the breakdown of important structures within the skin.

While beer may contain all of these wonderful ingredients it also contains alcohol which may negate the benefits of these nutrients. Luckily in our soap (please do not eat or drink) we boil the alcohol out! Enjoy the smell of a nice cold beer and enjoy the skin nourishing benefits without the alcohol or calories.

Cleansing

We add hops essential oil to our Beer Soap. Hops essential oil has been shown to have anti-bacterial and anti-fungal properties, making it useful in helping fight acne caused by bacteria on the skin. Hops also have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties which has been shown to help in anti-aging and reduce the appearance of rosacea.

We are not trying to make any medical claims, we are simply stating that these nutrients have been shown to help alleviate certain skin issues. Before starting any new routine consider consulting with your doctor.

Just because something is natural or common doesn't mean it is best for you and your condition.
